The Twisted Skein

The Twisted Skein has been born, I do not know how it will be, but it is where my New Community is going to be. I think it will be a lot easier than MSN and without the problems of pages dissapearing and things working and not working. It will takl me some time to get it set up, but We shall be moving there by month's end. This is the Site Button. Thanks to Deneen for her encouragement and for her kindness as always. Thanks for stopping by!

Need Name and Your Vote

Just in case you have not been aware. Crochet Depot, the MSN group that I co-Owned disappeared today. Nothing left, so here we are. You have a chance to name a New MSN Group or Keep the same Name. So when you post here tell me the name that you want the site to be.

It was no surprise as other sites have disappeared in MSN lately and I am glad that I noticed it by chance. Anyway Crochet Depot May continue or it may not, it depends on you. It will be weeks before the site comes up and runs, but it is ready for membership. Thanks for stopping by.

Harry Potter Exchange Scarf 07 #1

My partner's Owl delivered the mail to my house Yesterday. I was in an exchange with Minky at the Crochet Depot Harry Potter Scarf Exchange. Here are the pictures of the Package delivered by her Owl. I have always liked exchanges , because people do things different than you do and it is always nice. I have never had a bad experience in exchanges. I liked the way her scarf came out. Great job Minky!

This was the coolest item of the exchange the Golden Snitch. I tried to catch it, but it just would not let me do it. It came to me later on and then I grabbed it.The snitch comes from http://innerchildcrochet.com and you can find the pattern directly on this LINK.

Hufflepuff Scarf 80%, and a Contest

I have been working on this beautiful Hufflepuff Scarf is about 80% done. It is shaping up nicely and I am looking forward to making the fringe for it. On a different note I am conducting a Weekly Contest At Crochet Depot i.e. http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot the place for all you crochet novices and aficionados and experts. How many Skeins of yarn do I have in this container. There will be more things to guess and different containers to look at. The prizes are Crochet related , Crochet books and books of patterns. There may be a prize of yarn , a prize of hooks and who knows, I am cleaning my closets lol! Thanks for stopping by.

Pick my needles and hooks up!

Yes it is time to get my needles and hooks in a row and start something exciting. I am getting all motivated, but it takes time. I am getting some nice cotton yarn and I have some chenille and wool that will have some kind of form soon.

This is some of the wool I got to make socks or skull caps. I don't know yet, but there is plenty of colors. There is also chenille at the top, maybe a chenille scarf and a nice chenille Winter Cap?
If anyone has a nice stuffed animal pattern that they want a group of people to test let me know. I am always looking for patterns to challenge the group at Crochet Depot.

Thanks for stopping by!

Men Who Crochet

Men Who Crochet and those who Teach them.
Here is Moi. I am teaching a class to a group of peers that want to learn to crochet. Today we took the basics, of making a chain, slip stitch and single crochet. This hat that I am wearing is made by a friend and member of Crochet Depot, Candy , http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot Candy, using the pattern from Deneen ,
you can find the pattern Deneens cotton-skull-cap-great-as-chemo-cap.

The idea came from the fact that the guys wanted to make hats and scarfs. Today's basics are enough to make scarfs and hats. It was in Spanish and a challenge as I learned to Crochet in English and even though the movements are the same, the names are different. Thanks to Scott and Guillermo for their efforts in making a Crochet In Spanish manuscript that I was able to give copies to all of them. There will be a second class and in the futute there will be a class of Men who Knit. Thanks for stopping by.

What's a Tombie, it is a ....

A Tombie is a tomatoe zombie and more than that a Psycho tomatoe.
At the mystery Crochet along every week a part of the pattern is disclosed. I take extreme care not to reveal parts of the pattern that let you know what youy are working on.

I try to choose patterns that can be made in worsted weight yarn. Sometimes I go around the internet and asked designers to join my group or to allow me to use their patterns for a Mystery Crochet Along, or MCAL as we called them. This are always fun in my opinion.

Where you might ask? Well very simple.
At http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot we have been blessed as one of our designer members has allowed us to have a Mystery Crochet Pattern to share for October.

The designer is Regina Rioux Gonzalez from http://monstercrochet.com and you can also find her and her creations when you visit her blogsite at http://monstercrochet.blogspot.com

I finished the pattern and thought nothing of it. I put the tomatoe with other fruits and vegetables. As you can see the pineapple coarse core and her spikes protect her from the evil one eye monster. How could I have missed the fact that there were knives close by. I thought nothing of it, but I think I may have been wrong.

Here is proof from my hidden camera as the Tombie was looking all inocent , but in reality it was extending it's tentacles toward one of the knives . Did you see it blinking? Of course you may have missed the evil eye monster with his long lashes, perpetrating the hideous crime to the unsuspecting fruit. Which fruit do you think got attacked?

It was not too bad, IHere you see the unsuspecting Granny Apple being attacked, I could do
nothing to help her . Her destiny became clear as I saw a jar of peanut butter close by. Once it was cut up in pieces, it was chow time for me. That's right this tomatoe to save itself , it will sacrifice all other fruits and vegetables. He will serve them on a plate for you, just like that.

Now out of the drama I can tell you, that I have had such a great time following this pattern. The designer, Ladylinoleoum, as she is known in the artistic circles, is a superp designer who is also a
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" artist and great friend. I know Regina through the Internet. Some day we shall have Hot Chocolate and Churros. Go and visit her site and see if you find a pattern or two that you may like to buy. I know I will do that before the month ends. Thank You Regina! You are loved con todo mi corazón.

June06 Dishcloths Exchange

To go to the Crochet Depot site you will need to click on the link below and it will take you to our group. There is where the exchange is taking place and I got my partner for June's discloth exchange Candy and here is what I got from her. She was so clever as to make one of the dishcloths around a scrubbing circle pad. I also got two magazines and some very nice scented candles.

The other dishcloth is a set of trousers held together by a nice red ribbon. This was also a very clever idea that I like. If you like to exchange things like these and Pot holders, you can join our group at msn. http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot , you will need an MSN passport account.
You can also join our exchanges by clicking at the square on the right you will be directed to our Exchanges Guidelines. We also have a Granny Guy Square exchange , for charity.

Go , find out for yourself, don't let rumors run alone, find out by clicking & going to http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot/grannyguygrannysquareexchange.msnw
for more information about our Granny Guy Square Exchange. Who was Granny Guy?
Click at the link below and it will take you to his blogspot

Mystery Crochet Along First View

I have a mystery Crochet Along at http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot . I will be challenging the group every month with some kind of mystery pattern. Some of them will be small, some of them will be big. Some of them may be done in small gauge or large gauge.

This is part of what is coming out. People may think they know what it is, but I can asure you that they will be thrown off by my shrewdness in hiding the real pattern, lol. Next month Mystery Crochet pattern may be kitchen stuff, or bathroom stuff. No matter what it will be, is going to be fun.

Later on I will share some of my crochet magazines in Spanish with you. It is interesting, the approach to crochet has a different flavor. Well than you for stopping by and come back again.

63 Easy Crochet Squares Apr 06

This is the crochet-along in which I am involved at my group on MSN. I am glad that I decided to number the squares this way.

If you truly want to know, it really does not matter, unless you want to follow the book by the numbers.

I want to thank everyone who has followed my work and who likes the merging of the two blogs. As a matter of fact, I helped a friend to familiarize herself with blogs, and what do you know she was able to create her own blog at : http//divakim.blogspot.com.

My friend Kims enjoys reading all these books she sells on ebay. If you are curious about her blog and her reviews, give her a visit. She will give you her frank opinion. You can actually get god books from her.

This 63 Easy Crochet Patterns should be finished by September I believe, maybe each week as I go along I will post some of my squares. I have plenty of works in progress to keep me busy for the rest of the year. I believe I will be abe to make some more charity afghans in Scott's name in May or June, I will keep you posted.

If you want to join the crochet along, go to http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepotand join the MSN group we are a friendly bunch. Thanks for stopping by.

To Scott of Crochetdepot.org Thanks

Scott Hooper from Crochet Depot, http://www.crochetdepot.org/, has been instrumental in helping me with this website and the way it looks. These are some of his creations for me. I wanted to give thanks to him for his marvelous craftiness.

This is the main picture of my profile and I think he did a great job with the techno effects.

Here he made my blog botton, which if you want to link to my blog is available for the taking. It is people like him that allow art to have expression. He also helped me with the header and the coloring and the website in general. Thank you for your help in helping another crochet fellow. You may want to pay his sight a visit if you are a crochetter and maybe join, www.crochetdepot.org, pay him a visit.

Crochet Depot moved to http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot.

Remember when people used to have R.A.S.K., which stands for Random Acts of Simple Kindness. Well I think that we should encourage those kind of actions everyday without asking for anything back. Never forget that The Law of Reciprocal Actions will be put in motion. First you need to know of the Newton's third law: law of reciprocal actions, I have mentioned it here before.

I think that when it somes to kindness, doing nice things, people often get confused. It is with discrimination that you should do your kindness. Go figure I have learned that in this lifetime.

I am working on Dachshund Heidi , which is a crochetted stuffed animal from Scott Hooper, at
http://www.crochetdepot.org/patterns/DachshundHeidi.pdf, if you want to download it, you will need Acrobat reader to be able to open the file. I will be posting my progress sometime later this week, it is coming along very nicely. Thank you for visiting, come back soon!!!
