Spin me Round & Round Baby

I have had the opportunity of watching these  videos to enhance my Wheel Spinning   experience.  There are very different videos.  For the beginner spinner I will say that the  Maggie Casey and Eunny Jang DVD Set of 2 DVDs is a video beyond fantastic.  After taking a class in a local Yarn store, I can tell you that I did not get half the practice or information that I got from this video.  Maggie talks a bit soft, so you have to raise the volume, but otherwise it is a marvelous tool. The information in this set from Maggie and Eunny   will answer a lot of your questions, if not all of them, and will benefit you in a great manner. She starts from discussing the wool types, goes through the making singles, carding, woolen , worsted, rolags, parts of the wheel, maintenance of the wheel, tips and tricks with the wheel and the fleece, roving or batt.  This DVD set is the greatest class you will have without a hands on teacher, yet you can start to spin from watching the DVD.  Eunny and Maggie have a great raport and you get very involved in the playing along of this dvd. I am very glad that I purchased this dvd and will want to watch again.  It is always nice to watch this kind of dvds twice or more.  Take notes, it is a class after all.

So now we come to the one from Abby Franquemont which is a very good video , but is more for someone who already knows how to spin.  Abby will guide you through some of the steps of making yarn and gives you insights between the woolen and the worsted ways of making yarns.  You will enjoy the fact that abby makes yarn  making look very easy and makes it a lot more fun with her light hearted attitude.  Another video in which you can learn by watching her clear  demostrations.  SO if you are looking for a good video explanation for the long and short draw this video will be a great instructional video for you.  Thanks for stopping by!

Noro Your Dreams

For the longest of times I have desired and wanted to make socks. Wendy from Wendyknits.net has always been an inspiration with her many sock creations. I to look forward to a time that I can just make socks the same way I make hats, without much fuzz. Here I present you my Noro Dream Sock. It is based on the Nenah Galati Sock Pattern from her DVD Titled Sock I about how to knit socks on two circular needles. Some people get distracted by her jewelry, I did not find that to be true. Nenah is a very nice instructor that you will find appeals to you. I found it to be a very nice and instructive DVD that is worth every penny I spent on it. You figure that you pay around $50 dollars for a sock class, but with the DVD you can revisit the class as many times as you want and need. They also have a Sock of The Month Club, which I may join in the future as it seems to be a fun thing to do. So here it is, thanks for stopping by!

I have read so much about Noro, seen so many pictures, it's good and it's bad, well mostly good lol!. This is my precious lol!

I have been watching some wonderful Dvds some of sock knitting by Nenah Galati and the Hand Knitter's Guide to Sweater Finishing with Leslye Solomon. Leslye has a great way of teaching and I loved her sweater finishing guide. I did not realized how many techniques I already knew until I saw her DVD. Knitters around the world you better learn basic single crochet and the reverse single crochet. You can do wonders with those two stitches on Knit Garments.

I have some more DVD's to look at, Elizabeth's Zimmerman's and Meg Swansen, which I have gone deeper into investigation I have learned that Meg was her daughter. Isn't it nice, isn't it the American Dream? To create your own business out of a hobby? I hunt around the Internet for good deals, from http://www.Ebay.com tothe famous http://www.Amazon.com looking for the best deal on patterns, yarn and dvds. I also like to shop at ImagiKnit here in San Francisco, it is a very nice place where everyone is helpful and knowledgeable about yarns , needles, hooks and all the Crafty paraphernalia . An Interesting, Enjoyable and Beautiful NORO Handknitting Yarn. The basic principle for NORO Yarn is "Spin yarn by hand" Use machinery only for what cannot be done by hand. This hand-spun yarn is made from finely dyed wool, lined faithfully according to color and weight, carefully maintaining the slow spinning speed by our crafts persons. Since the human hand is used in the spinning process, the natural luster and texture are obtained without considerably impairing the wool fiber. Lining up the yarn by hand results in irregular arrangement of wool, thereby giving the yarn more bulk. The features of the NORO Yarn are lightness. softness and loftiness. Please view the thickness of our yarn as an average value. Because it is a handmade yarn with raw materials being weighed and lined by human hands, thera are areas that are thick and areas that are thin. There are areas where the strand is tight and where the strand is loose, so please knit gently and discover the joy of knitting NORO yarns.

Visit their website, choose English lol! and you can see and read more about this great company. http://eisakunoro.com where they strive to produce yarn that is natural and gentle to people and nature that will provide joy and happiness to people who use it. "NORO Yarn" is made to fulfill these dreams. A great commercial If I saw one. lol! Thanks for stopping by!

Chocolate Muffins and WIP

The chocolate muffin comes first, lol and then I show you the work in progress (WIP). A correction; When I say that I got The Knitter's Guide to Sweater Finishing from Cables N Wool or jerryc37.blogspot.com, what I meant the to say was the idea. I actually got the DVD from http://www.paradisefibers.net/ for the best price in the internet for a New DVD.

Charmed Knits and Dobby's socks!

Well I am not going to give Dobby his socks yet as I have an extremely busy weekend. Men Who Crochet Meeting Saturday and Sunday Men's Division meeting from my partner's Buddhist Group. I have a new stash of yarn for my scarf projects. I am also realizing that I may not have time for a sweater now until I have finished my scarves and do at least a pair of socks. I have not seen the DVD by Nenah Galati yet, but I will be making a review after I see it.

I will be frogging this sweater and probably use the yarn to make some baby blankets as it is acrylic. There are babies being born that require my Crochet Expertise! "Charmed Knits" is an excellent addition to those who are fans of Harry Potter and love to knit and Crochet. I believe there is only one Crochet Project and the rest is knitting. There are so many things that you can make, you will not be bored. From bookmarks, to magic wands covers, to wizard hats and afghans, sweaters and such, and everything for Quiddich. Definitely a must have for the Potter Fans. I think it was a great buy. I got it from Ebay , fast shipping and reasonable price. I will be making some of the stuff this winter. Well I may bot see you until Monday, so have a great Weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by.
