Granny Squares & Quilting Supplies Aug 06

Well I am getting ready for my quilting project. I got my circular ergo scissors, the template on the left, replacement blades and a stencil cutter pen One of the most important parts is the green mat where you can cut the fabric. I have also ordered some Fabric from a reputable Ebay Quilting Store.

This is one of the 12 in squares for the Granny Guy Square Exchange , that we have on a monthly basis at my group at the following link ---->>> http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot , (since the group is private you can no longer lurk you have to join to see our pages LOL),which is also helping The Heart Made Blessings Afghans. We make two Squares for your partner and two for the Charity.

You can find this wonderful charity at http://heartmadeblessings.org . This is a charity that will help many people. You will get such satisfaction, I know I do. Our friend Drew from Houston is accepting our squares for our group. He has a new book that you may want to chek out.

So thanks so much for stopping by and come back, I will definitely have something more for you soon. I am getting into more dishcloths and potholders and one of the greatest seasons is coming soon. Fall is around the corner. My quilting is coming, so don't go crazy, it will be here before you know it.

Is Andy under his yarn? Check it out!

I am extremely busy and have some photos to show , yet this is not all that I am doing, Oh My!

Thess are my 12 inch squares for this month, since the picture was taken the ends have been weaved.

I am also working with the 63 Easy to Make Squares it is a Crochet Along that we are having at Crochet Depot at http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot

Well this is not enough, I am also making things with eyes, but there are plenty of things with eyes, I am showing you part of a potholder, Is it a Cat, is it a Turkey, you will know some time next month.

I am also working with nylon. It is a very interesting media to work with. I did not know how useful it will be to make certain things in nylon, like for the bathroom. Personal hygiene items for men and women. It will all be clear to you next month. Lots of fascinating ideas and lots of new media to work with.

What else did you say? Well I have been introduced to the art of Quilting and will be making some Quilts and posting the progress online. I joined a group at MSN http://groups.msn.com/3sisterscyberquilting

So far I have gotten two books and will look forward to more. I am hoping to embrace this craft with my hands as I do Crochet. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon.

So as you can see I am and will be very busy . See ya soon!!!

Charity Squares, The heart and AIDS

I am making these charity squares for http://www.heartmadeblessings.org this organization which is wonderful, go and visit it's website and see if you want to join in the fun. I am doing this in memory of my friend Scott Hooper.

Who is or was Scott Hooper? He was a friend which I met through the internet. We became very close friends very fast, we laughed, we cried, we even had a fight in the short time we knew each other. We became very special to each other and talked on a daily basis. We talked about a lot of stuff, and we loved crochet and we liked the idea of sharing our craft with other people, therefore http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot was born beside his former website, the original Crochetdepot.org, which is no longer in existence.

Scott died of AIDS related complications, and more than from his disease, he died because of the incompetence of the Medicaid System and the State of Texas. The state of Texas made him jump through hoops to get the right treatment, housing assistance and such. The incompetence of the agencies the State subcontract was and IS uncalled for. Someone is making a lot of money on behalf of the disabled and senior community. Why do they think you are disabled, do people really know what you need to do to be alive on a daily basis. Do people understand that you may look great , but that you may not be so great inside? So if you live in Texas I hope you have a good private insurance and that you never have to go through what I saw my friend Scott go through in the last three months of his life. He had to sue the State of Texas Medicaid System because of their unprofessionalism. Specifically the Plaza Medical Center Of Forth Worth Texas. Scott besides being a great crocheter was a Wonderful Paralegal, something the State of Texas did not like and did not expect. He won some of the lawsuits against the state, some he won by his death. I was aware of all his business because he blind copied me everything that went on, I was secretly glad that I was in California and wished I could have brought him here, maybe his death could have been less painfull. At any rate enough of that, I just want to inform people to be militant about their health or the health of their loved ones, wether they are friends or family. Do not accept the unacceptable, we all deserve to die with dignity. I will stop here before I continue on rambling about the past.

Talking of other things, later this week I will post a picture of a sweater I have been working on. I have finished the front of it and will be working on the backside in the following weeks. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to see what I am up to.

Stardate Fall 2005, it begins !!!!

Astrologically fall does not officially begins until September 22, 2005 tomorrow around 6 PM, when the sun goes into the sign of Libra.

I have been working on my Quilt Afghan, it will be done definitely by this weekend , I will have a picture posted when I am done.

I got some patterns from crochetdude.biz, great patterns I think they will be a great foundation for sweaters and such. The holiday season is around the corner, I am getting ready , making some of my presents, vests, sweaters, hats, washclothes. No socks this year, I will have to learn how to make them first.

The books I was waiting for arrived, they are all great. for those who want the pattern for the Quilt Afghan, you will need to buy the used book ,maybe at Barnes N Nobles, the ISBN is 0-86675-305-2 "More GREAT AFGHANS Crochet and Knit", by KC Publishing, Inc.

Second Border Quilt Afghan

I have started the second border of three borders of the Quilted Afghan. You can see these colors are marvelous. LOL. I just wanted to update the blog. The first border was done on medium pink old rose and forest green or sage green, the second border will be made in gold and , medium pink old rose or something like that. The last border is a repeat of the green and pink border and finishes the afghan. As you can see on the left side there is a ridge that is formed. Still I had to manipulate the pattern to make it easier on me.
I will keep you posted, now thee are about 150 to 200 little granny squares that I need to make to follow the second boder. Lots of work.
