"Hyas" a lace hat
This is the latest hat pattern from Crafty Andy and it has a brother. I don't mind wearing a lacy hats. I actually like it because I get overheated and these hats have plenty of ventilation. I think it is a unisex hat and I will leave it up to you the god or the goddess to make it for yourselves or for a friend.

Hyas, in Greek mythology, was a son of the Titan Atlas by Aethra (one of the Oceanids). He was a notable archer who was killed by his intended prey. Another beautiful hat in my series of lace attire. It comes along in my series honoring the Gods and human divinity, it is timeless piece. It has delicate appearance to chaperone the rain nymphs. Embrace the divine spark within you and wear it with pride.
You can increase the stitches by multiples of 19 (for each additional chart repeat) if you wish to widen the hat for a tam or a more slouchy hat. You will do this by making your increases while knitting a plain knit Rnd like the 1st Rnd of the Chart. Spread the increases evenly on your circular needle or double pointed needles. I personally find the long tail cast on very stretchy, but feel at ease using your preferred way of casting on stitches. When you block your hat, the finished dimensions should easily reach 20 ( 22, 24, 26) inches if you get gauge. Your hat should be able to stretch to size and fit effortlessly. (Hat in pictures fits my head at 22”, and 133 sts)
Once you have set up the size of your head band, I recommend a (K1 x P1) ribbing of about 1 to 2 inches in length. Have a longer ribbing if you desire, remember that ribbing can always be folded, I would rather have a longer ribbing that one that is too short. This has is very stretchy by design, having a negative ease to fit you with no problem. Finishing Hat This hat can easily be made into a beanie or a Tam depending on how you block it. Tams are easily blocked by using a dinner plate, and allowing the hat to dry taking the shape. I believe this hat can be made for a man or a woman, it really has no gender. You can get creative with sizing and make one for the baby or the toddler or even a teenager.
