Merry Christmas everyone

Happy Holidays everyone. The first picture is the most meaningful to me, because these mittens are hand made by me, I dyed the wool, then I spun the yarn. The picture shows them almost finished, I modified the pattern and made them fingerless, but with the fingers divided. I looks very cool.
These are stitch makers from Admiral IYN thank you they are lovely and very inspirational.
This yarn is part of the Christmas Exchange from the Ravelry Group, very lovely .

This one as well is part of the swap, but it was hand dyed for me, I love all these details and I will be making some socks with this yarn.

Delicious , but dangerous peppermint chocolare bark!

I made the hat for Michael, he loves it. It is the Armando Hat from Ravelry, easy as pie manly lace hat. We got some Harry and David Fruit as well.

There was lots of fiber fun from this Erin Colorway from Ebay with a humongous spindle which I like and unexpectedly came pn the 24 th.

Last Season of Galactica and the New Star Trek Movie on Blue Ray.

Here is some more of the loot from the swap that I left to open on Christmas day, I love tha bag of rice, it is a great sack.

A copoy of the pyramids in chocolate lol!

My mom always send me cool stuff, candies , socks and underwear, even if I don't use some of the styles it is always nice to receive them from her.

More fiber fun as I will learn to spin cottong. This package has plenty of different kinds of cotton fun to spin from.
Cotton roving to spin to my heart desires.
A brand new set of Tarot Cards for my Spiritual Journey and consultations.
Needless to say as soon as I so this book I wanted it and Santa brought to me. I will learn to respect my spindle.

A See's Cigar made out of chocolate, even though I have been known to enjoy a cigar once in a while, this one is made to eat. Happy Holidays and thank you for stopping by.

Yarn, Unspun fiber and Hemlock Throw

So the story starts with a great garage sale in which I got all this yarn and buttons for $5.00, there are two skeins of mohair, and some other yummy blends. The buttons where a great freebie and as I have been searching for buttons , let me tell you they are not cheap.
I was very lucky the other day as I bought some Unspun Camel wool from a Friend of mine whi is a crocheter. She is allergic to all kinds of wool, but camel wool seems to be great for her. She got a skein of the wool plus about 6 ounces of unspun yarn. I want to card it with some silk and make some yummy yarn. Tussah silk will look great with this wool.

SO here I am with my cousin it custome, or in Spanish we called hi Uncle THing from the Adams. Unblocked this Hemlock Ring Throw is a bit unruly.

I started to block it from the middle out with the steam iron and pinning it as I went accross, so I did all the points, that's when I noticed that someohow I dropped a stitch, I felt so lucky because it would have unraveld and I would have been unhappy. No problems there I fixed the dropped stitch.
Resting on it was a great joy, the wool softens nicely and takes a different shape. Wool is the way to go with this throw.I want to thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Holiday !

Home Spun Plied

Yesterday was such a busy day, I thought I was going to do some crochet and some knitting, it did not happen. I did laundry and some house cleaning and by the end of the day what I really wanted to do was to ply some of this homespun. As I am plying and using some of my spindles, I got to see what a good spindle is suppose to be like. Well to keep you not in suspense, the Avi Wasserman and the Kundert Spindles spin like heaven, they just keep the momentum of the spin for a long time. The Geek in me I guess, says yes, I love physics, thanks for stopping by.

In the long run this is the first Afghan that I make for myself in a very long time. I am hoping to use my three skeins of yarn and make a humongous throw lol1. In the meantime I am hoping to finish this by Friday, I will have to visit the LYS and see if they have this colorway available still and I may buy another skein. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more updates, in the meantime Happy Holidays.

A neck Warmer for A man

ManNeckWarmer (13)

I bought this yarn Dieci from Lana Grossa, beautiful and nice to the touch, I wanted to make a hat, but I decided to get my neck warm instead. Lana Grossa Dieci is a great yarn that will work up a sweater or scarf in no time. This is a One Skein Project that I will have a pattern for soon. It is a neck warmer done with a skein of Lana Grossa Dieci I will recommend using size 10.5 or 11 Circulars or Straight needles. I did start this project on DPNs, but I decided that I wanted to make it open and not a close circular project, which. I personally used 10.5, but I am a bit of a loose knitter, I sometimes need to drop one or two sizes down the recommend needle size lol . Thanks for stopping by!

Hard Six Drop Shoulder Sweater

This sweater is from my own creation , it is a great sweater which I have made once before. I love the cables and the drop shoulder. This can easily be modified to be a vest, which I may do later or and a cardigan sweater.
This red diagonal loop is kind of my signature, by the way a Crafty Andy Original. The yarn was gifted to me and is not my choice, but I did a wonderful job if I may say so with what was at hand. I did need to purchase 4 more skeins and since the yarn was discontinued, I got some Lana Grossa, excellent yarn Cinque which complimented the other colors nicely.
If you become obsessed with weaving the ends of the sweater you may have a nervous breakdown, lol. The pattern , plus the yarn does not allow for that. Actually if I had enough yarn I would have hidden the ends at the seams, because I would have had enough to play with it. The seams are done in a single crochet, that way it has a more professional finished look. The video shows you a bit of what I mean.
Even with the drawbacks of the yarn I am very pleased with the end result, six cables, and one on each sleeve, at the center of it.
This is what we call the wrong side, where all the mistakes get hidden, lol. Later on I will be making a hat and will model it with my red corduroy pants.
Thank You for stopping by and for allowing me in your home. Happy Holidays!
