Baby Set WIP Jan 08

This is my Baby set in Green Work in Progress, because I am working on the booties today. The afghan has been started, but I am going to get some very nice ribbons for the cap and the booties and buttons. Where you see the stitch holders that's where the button holes are. I do have plenty of projects and plenty of things I want to make, but needless to say it is nice to take time to make something for somebody else. I have not forgotten the baby's little sister, I am workking on the purse as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Chenille, we all go through Stages

This is the Video Camera bag that I made using three strands of chenille. As a man I find chenille is a tough material to make things for me, but if you choose the right color combination, you can give anything a masculine look, lol! I will be having a Video presentation this weekend of my finish objects, and some of my works in progress. In the video you will see the full functionality of this bag, plus I will give you an explanation of the two Crochet Styles that I used to make this bag.

This below is a work in progress. I am working on a Tunisian Crochet Lapghan using those same there strands of material. In my mind feels like "Finally I found something useful for this chenille yarn besides making a Teddy Bear." Hilarious , but very crafty!

What to do with Chenille?

Chenille is such a crazy yarn and it comes in thin, thick and super thick or chunky. I like the material to make bags, totes, cases for eyeglasses or cameras et cetera. I also find chenille is great for making a cozy afghan-blanket. Here this is my own design a very simple chenille eyeglass case that hangs on your neck. Sometimes I wear contacts and I still need to carry my reading glasses. If you go shopping it is a great idea to have them hanging from your neck in a little pouch. This pattern is very simple and easy, maybe I will write the pattern later on. It is done using three strands of chenille yarn and this fabulous K hook courtesy of Naomi .

Chenille, the French word for caterpillar, is typically used to describe a type of fabric. Many fabrics, such as mohair and wool, get their names from the fibers with which they are made. Chenille, however, is named for the unique process in which it is made. It is manufactured by wrapping short lengths of fabric, called "piles," around a tightly wound core of yarn. The edges of these piles then stand at right angles from the yarn’s core, giving chenille both its softness and its characteristic look. Chenille can appear iridescent without actually using iridescent fibers. The yarn is commonly manufactured from cotton, but can also be made using acrylic, rayon and olefin.

Barcelona In Pictures

I was able to create a Little movie with the pictures that we took in Barcelona. It is about 16 minutes in length, so grab some tea or coffee and enjoy! I hope this encourages you to learn more about Barcelona and it's Culture. My ancestors, part of them anyway, come from this area of Spain. Barcino is the old name of Barcelona during Roman Times. So I would say that Barcinos is the name of the people from Barcino aka Barcelona.

This city captivated me in ways that I can not express I wish it does the same to you. I would love to reside there one day! This video is made to share with you, my Internet friends. Thanks for Stopping by!

A New Year Has Come!

I have not gotten lost or taken by extraterrestrial beings. I have been working on so many things that is not even funny. LOL! One of the things I have been working on is remaking my Vacation DVD's so that they can be played on any DVD player, better effects and I am trying to get one published on you tube as well. We shall see.

I have been working on my Gryffindor scarf, it has been taking a bit more time, as to weave the ends I need to do it during the day time as it gives me headaches to do it at night, it is one of those things that come with age ha ha ha!

2007 in Review
*
I found that the year 2007 challenged me to be flexible beyond what I consider comfort, but it was all great on the long run. I found myself in plenty of situations where I had to change my usual behavior to accomplish victory on several areas. I was successful and very proud of myself. I also learned new techniques for knitting and crocheting and did something I did not think I would do! I am talking about being on YouTube and Editing Films! It is a lot of fun, but it can be frustrating at times. I enjoyed visiting my family and my ancestor's lands.

I don't go crazy on a New Year and start making resolutions without thinking, I do not take that lightly. I guess my list of resolutions are very basic and continue to be true from year to year and here are some. My only concern is to be true to myself no matter what happens. If you want to make it a MEME, consider yourself tagged when you read this, but do it mainly for yourself. I like to write things, because it helps me be more concrete and visualize stuff. So here is my MEME for 2008, I think that next year I will come and revisit and see what things have I accomplished from this list.

11 Resolutions - Goals 2008

1. Learn something New about Crochet or Knitting.

2. Do Something New in Crochet and Knitting.

3. Travel somewhere I have never been before.

4. Maintain my health in stable conditions.

5. Go to my 30th High School Reunion!

6. Eat green, buy green as much as possible.

7. Try some new Yarn.

8. Pray for world Peace and for Protection everyday.

9. Read a book a month!

10. Go to the movies more often.

11. Give A craft class.

So here we go into the New Year with Love, Abundance and Good Health and time to enjoy all these gifts. Looking forward to a positive outcome in our world. Making sure we change ourselves to be more positive and more peaceful. Be aware of your surroundings and remember the good adage, "If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is". Always remember that your are loved and protected beyond your fondest dreams by a power bigger than ourselves. As it is in it is out, as above so it be below. Be what you want the world to be an there you will see how your surroundings start to change to match your inner life. Keep an open mind, but don't forget the nature of the beast a snake will always be a snake lol! To another Great Year!
