Cabled Scarf; Baby Lion Wash Wrap

A lot happened this weekened. My best friend moved to Dallas. I will miss him being around, but wish him the best. I hope he finds in Dallas what San Francisco did not offer. I also met a cousin I never met before from Southern California. I donated some clothes to goodwill courtesy of my friend who moved to Dallas. Lots of needle work mending clothes. I need to get some buttons for a coat and need to post some pictures for another website I help keep up.

On another note the Quilt Afghan will have to wait as I ran out of yarn , I had to order it online so it will be sometime before I finish it. Can you believe that. I am two rows away from finishing this quilt. Ah! The Taurus patience will pay off.

Two projects that are next are the lionbrand baby bath wrap, I am including this picture whose copyright is lionbrand.com.

I did get a picture of a scarf I knitted about 8 years ago it is my favorite scarf and I made a sweater to match it, I no longer have the sweater.

Happy Birthday to my sister , may we enjoy more good times together!

Until later this week.

Stardate Fall 2005, it begins !!!!

Astrologically fall does not officially begins until September 22, 2005 tomorrow around 6 PM, when the sun goes into the sign of Libra.

I have been working on my Quilt Afghan, it will be done definitely by this weekend , I will have a picture posted when I am done.

I got some patterns from crochetdude.biz, great patterns I think they will be a great foundation for sweaters and such. The holiday season is around the corner, I am getting ready , making some of my presents, vests, sweaters, hats, washclothes. No socks this year, I will have to learn how to make them first.

The books I was waiting for arrived, they are all great. for those who want the pattern for the Quilt Afghan, you will need to buy the used book ,maybe at Barnes N Nobles, the ISBN is 0-86675-305-2 "More GREAT AFGHANS Crochet and Knit", by KC Publishing, Inc.

Sweaters N More Sep 05

I am waiting on some books for crocheting sweaters that I recently bought on Ebay. Meanwhile this is my first crochet sweater. I made it around two months ago. It used to be knitted .

I am finishing my quilted afghan, I am at the hardest part which is tieing loose ends and working them throughout the work. One hour doing that feels like nothing. I try to do it by colors that way it is easier to see progress. I think it will be done sometime next week.

I have ordered some old movies with Bacall and Bogart, "do you know how to whistle?, Just put your lips together and blow", then One with Rita Hayworth and Mildred Pierce Daaaarling. LOL.

Hope everyone's weekend is nice.

Quilted Afghan Outer Frame

I just finished the outer frame of the afghan and will be working on the third border . This borders actually give it form and strength. The borders are green medium antique rose; green and dark gold and lastly green medium antique rose. It is a very interesting enterprise to make this afghan into a reality. I think I will have to make it my bed spread. Definetely will have it done by next Monday and a picture will be posted. Thank you for the visit and come back once in a while. I always have something every week to talk about or show you.

Stardate September 08, 2005

I am still working on the quilt afghan, my head is running with many ideas for projects. I had to buy more yarn today. I have forgotten how much yarns it takes to make this afghan.

Also I got some nice patterns from Ebay, what a deal. I also got the book "From Knit to Crochet" by the needlecraft shop, very good. I got it at Amazon for a good price and was in my hands almost instantly. I rather buy these books online from someone than deal with a book of the month club, it's just not sensible for me. I recomend this BOOK, it is great . I am planning to get some cotton and make some washclothes with the stitches for practice. Well enough for today, I will definitely come back during the weekend.

Second Border Quilt Afghan

I have started the second border of three borders of the Quilted Afghan. You can see these colors are marvelous. LOL. I just wanted to update the blog. The first border was done on medium pink old rose and forest green or sage green, the second border will be made in gold and , medium pink old rose or something like that. The last border is a repeat of the green and pink border and finishes the afghan. As you can see on the left side there is a ridge that is formed. Still I had to manipulate the pattern to make it easier on me.
I will keep you posted, now thee are about 150 to 200 little granny squares that I need to make to follow the second boder. Lots of work.

Stardate September 03, 2005

My quilted afghan is coming along. I have to take it easy on my wrists. I just ordered some yarn to make a baby blanket which will be adorable, from Lion Brand Yarn. It is suppose to be a lion like hooded baby wrap. It is very funky.

Stardate September 01, 2005

Still working on my quilted afghan, lots of stitches need to happen, LOL. I purchased the Book "Big Book of Scrap Crochet Projects"; I got it at Ebay that way I did not have to deal with monthly books arriving. The book is wonderful and has plenty of ideas of things to do with scraps of yarn.

To the people of Nueva Orleans, as I knew it, my prayers and my contributions go to you. It's late and I am ready to go to bed.

Buenas Noches.
