Brethren in Blues

Here is the Brethren in Blue. This is a great yarn that has subtle purple spots around. By now I can say with certainty that given the right circumstances, I can knit a pair of Brethren socks in under two weeks. Talking about two weeks, I am hoping to finish my Men's Fall Knitting Retreat 2014 post later this week.

MFKR 2014 Day 1

MFKR 2014 Swag
The swag this year was very good as always.  We actually had a choice of getting a bag, a back pack or a shopping bag.  One skein of American Brand yarn and a wonderful pattern book.
Charan Sachar MFKR swag 2014
Charan Sachar a  local artisan and potter, donated these wonderful dishes so that we let our stitch markers rest while we knit or crochet. Charan has a full line of ceramics that are to die for.  Yarn bowls, coffee mugs, glasses and plates.  He has a shop and a blog link provided below,

Every year for a while we have had a silent auction from items donated.  You can see my two bears at the end.  The donations help fund the MFKR scholarship fund.  The scholarship allows the group to help  2 or more candidates assist the MFKR with some financial help.  I was glad to be able to contribute to the MFKR with my bears.  The first day is about meeting people and getting settled.  The fisrt class will begin soon after dinner, it is Learning to spin using a drop spindle by Aaron Bush and Michael Wade.  Tomorrow is day two, don't you miss it.  Thanks for stopping by!
