As the whorls go around

Here you have my latest spinning project.  It is gotland fiber and it is very soft.  Well it is soft once you wash it.  I noticed that it was just a little dirty, not much.  I found this breed to be a very easy to spin  because is a very luxurious fiber.  Long staple about 3 to 5 inches.  I got 224 grams, with about 386 yards!
 Anders 386 yds 224 grams
Here is another one, this time BFL, 105 grams,  with a yield of about 198 yards.  It is very springy and cushy.  It was easier to spin that what I expected.

What a difference trying to make lace at a 105 grams and 324 yards of yarn.   More pictures to come. Thanks for stopping by.

Gotland Spun and a sock

So I have been spinning some fiber. This fiber is gotland, silvery and long staple, has a feel of cotswold. I love this fiber and have some more waiting until 2015. I will have to tell you later why, but right now I won't get into the details. These were two bobbins full. DSC_3721[1]
Amazing I only had very little left from one bobbin, which makes me very happy. I did a navajo ply of this, I may use it to hold the skein together.
