Charity Squares, The heart and AIDS

I am making these charity squares for http://www.heartmadeblessings.org this organization which is wonderful, go and visit it's website and see if you want to join in the fun. I am doing this in memory of my friend Scott Hooper.

Who is or was Scott Hooper? He was a friend which I met through the internet. We became very close friends very fast, we laughed, we cried, we even had a fight in the short time we knew each other. We became very special to each other and talked on a daily basis. We talked about a lot of stuff, and we loved crochet and we liked the idea of sharing our craft with other people, therefore http://groups.msn.com/crochetdepot was born beside his former website, the original Crochetdepot.org, which is no longer in existence.

Scott died of AIDS related complications, and more than from his disease, he died because of the incompetence of the Medicaid System and the State of Texas. The state of Texas made him jump through hoops to get the right treatment, housing assistance and such. The incompetence of the agencies the State subcontract was and IS uncalled for. Someone is making a lot of money on behalf of the disabled and senior community. Why do they think you are disabled, do people really know what you need to do to be alive on a daily basis. Do people understand that you may look great , but that you may not be so great inside? So if you live in Texas I hope you have a good private insurance and that you never have to go through what I saw my friend Scott go through in the last three months of his life. He had to sue the State of Texas Medicaid System because of their unprofessionalism. Specifically the Plaza Medical Center Of Forth Worth Texas. Scott besides being a great crocheter was a Wonderful Paralegal, something the State of Texas did not like and did not expect. He won some of the lawsuits against the state, some he won by his death. I was aware of all his business because he blind copied me everything that went on, I was secretly glad that I was in California and wished I could have brought him here, maybe his death could have been less painfull. At any rate enough of that, I just want to inform people to be militant about their health or the health of their loved ones, wether they are friends or family. Do not accept the unacceptable, we all deserve to die with dignity. I will stop here before I continue on rambling about the past.

Talking of other things, later this week I will post a picture of a sweater I have been working on. I have finished the front of it and will be working on the backside in the following weeks. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to see what I am up to.
